Barefoot can only be accessed by the beach or dunes. We are about 150m walk from the car park at the end of the Old Lydd Road
We have permission for one 4×4 to park on the beach by the house and we also have one car pass that enables free parking in the beach car park.
To drive onto the beach (please note only 4x4s as you will definitely get stuck in a normal car) you enter the beach car park at the end of the Old Lydd Road and drive to the access way at the far left hand corner. There may be a bollard in place which you can lift and lower to gain access but please put it up again afterwards. Then drive slowly and carefully onto the beach and turn left with hazard lights on.
Please be aware at all times that people and animals will not be expecting to see a car on the beach.
After 150m you will reach a row of 5 beach houses and Barefoot is the last of these, nestling in its own dunes.
Access to and from the house by 4×4 can be restricted at peak times so please be aware if the beach is crowded you may not be allowed to drive on or off it. You can check with the Coastguard in the beach car park office in peak season.
PLEASE NOTE ALTHOUGH WE ALWAYS LEAVE OUR 4X4 BY THE HOUSE, GUESTS DO SO AT THEIR OWN RISK AND MAY WISH TO USE THE BEACH CAR PARK IN ADVERSE WEATHER CONDITIONS WHERE SALT AND SAND MAY AFFECT THE PAINTWORK.
